He practiced Nephrology in Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area for about 1.5 years. He moved to Victoria TX in November 2010 and has been serving the community since then.

Dr Kumar has special interest in complex Blood Pressure patients. He is the only American Society of Hypertension (ASH) certified Clinical Hypertension Specialist in Victoria and surrounding counties.

He believes in early referral of patients with kidney disease so that further progression of kidney damage can be prevented with appropriate measures. Diabetes and/or High blood pressure with/without proteins in the urine would be first clue to kidney damage.

 He offers all facets of Kidney (renal) replacement therapies to patients with End Stage Renal Disease. He believes in early transplant referral to a center of patient’s choice.
He also specializes his care in Dialysis with >40% of his patients receiving home therapies—one of the highest in the whole nation. He also treats significant number of In-Center Hemodialysis patients who benefit from his expertise.

He also specializes in all other causes of kidney damage including but not limited to Polycystic Kidney Disease, Glomerulonephritis and systemic diseases affecting kidneys.

 Dr Kumar follows his patients in the hospital with kidney related issues and welcomes new referrals.
